May 2022 Morris Area Society of Homebrews Update

Monthly Meeting:
Tuesday, May 17th at 7:30 pm at Glenbrook Brewery 95 Morris St, Morristown, NJ 07960

Join us at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022, for our monthly MASH meeting at
GlenBrook Brewery, Morristown, NJ

We will be participating in an inter-club beer tasting with the WHALES. We will be sending MASH beers to them and we will receive WHALES beers for simultaneous club tastings.
Our goal is to taste the beers and provide feedback to the brewers. Once both clubs have had the opportunity to taste the beers, we will hold a live Zoom call to discuss our findings and then hear from each brewer.

By-passing regular monthly Sensory Analysis for the month of May.
This month we will be changing things up. There will be an intimate
MASH Gathering for a tasting of various Meads. Once a date is determined, an announcement will be made for sign-ups. Due to the limited capacity nature of this event, we plan to have others so additional MASH members can participate. We apologize in advance to anyone who would like to attend and gets closed out.

 Upcoming MASH meeting schedule.

June monthly meeting:
Due to Homebrew Con in Pittsburgh during the third week of the month, we will be shifting the regular meeting dates. For our monthly meeting, we will be having a special Members Only Meeting on Tuesday, June 14th (location to be announced once determined). To attend, you must be a dues-paying MASH member by that date.

Our June Sensory Analysis will be on Thursday, June 30th via our regular Zoom link. At this point in time, we are most likely going to be tasting various Wheat beers (American and German). Details will be announced when available. Join our  Sensory Analysis via Zoom

July monthly meeting:
Also, because of Homebrew Con, we are pushing back our next Club Only Competition to July. At our July 19th monthly meeting we will compete with American Wheat Beers (BJCP Style 1D)

Upcoming MASH trip:
Hopefully, we can coordinate this for some time this Summer: A Brooklyn Brewery Crawl with Uncle Stu. Former Board member Stu Blake has put together some ideas for a multi-brewery tour in different regions of Brooklyn (where he currently resides). Once we zero in on a date, current Events Chair Bryan Hoppe will spearhead the effort. Stay tuned for further details.
